What is iNeedSimParts about?

iNeedSimParts was created as a place to connect sellers of simulator-related parts with buyers looking for parts, all for free.  Buyers contact sellers directly through the for-sale ads they post on this site.  We are not part of the transaction in any way beyond facilitating the initial connection, nor do we make a commission from the sale.

Who is this site for?

This site is geared toward simulation enthusiasts, sim parts builders looking for a place to sell their 3D-printed parts, and commercial vendors / salvage companies looking to sell their replica and real parts.
 

Why is it free?

Posting standard listings will always remain free to encourage more people to sell their parts to the community, so we can all benefit from what the community has to offer.  When sites start charging for listings a noticeable drop in participation occurs which we obviously don't want.

 
Why are commercial vendors allowed?

Many sites do not allow commercial sellers to sell their products, and if they do, they charge them for it.  The mindset of this site is commercial vendors also have lots of great products to offer the sim community, and as long as they identify themselves as commercial vendors during registration this site makes it easy to differentiate and filter them.  So why rule them out? 

In addition, many real parts vendors like salvage companies are often blocked from selling what they have, meaning less opportunity and availability for the sim community to find real parts for their sims.
 

Why should I use this site?

There are plenty of other sites that sell sim parts like forums, eBay, Facebook, etc.  They all have their advantages and disadvantages but are usually limited to a specific simulation community.  They also might charge you to post ads.  Or they might have agendas, hidden or not, that limit or restrict what items you are shown.

First, there are no hidden agendas here.  You can expect honesty and openness.  Everyone is welcome.  The end goal is to create a thriving site that supports the community by first and foremost keeping this a free resource. 

Second, this site is FREE for enthusiasts of all types of simulators, from flight simulators to helicopters, cars, trucks, busses, trains, ships and more.   No other site I’m aware of caters to all sim genres and with the features this site has.

Third, this site has powerful search and filtering capabilities allowing you to quickly find parts you need for your sim.  The location filter even allows you to filter for parts closer to you to try and help you save on expensive international shipping fees.
 

What’s in it for you?

As a simulator enthusiast myself with my own home cockpit build in progress I know how hard it can be to find parts, especially real parts.  I wanted to create a place where we can all come together and share the parts we have, furthering our enjoyment of this great hobby.

Listings are free because I want to encourage people to post what they have for sale.  Yes, I may make a few dollars on banner advertisements or listing upgrades which will go to support the ongoing hosting costs and development of the site and yes, perhaps give me a little pocket change to fund my own cockpit build, which I'd love to continue.  I don’t plan on making a business out of it, and if I ever do, it’ll likely be as a non-profit business.
 

How do you make money?

The only places we charge are for upgrades to featured listings and for advertising banners.
 

Do you collect information?  Do you have a Privacy Policy?

We only collect information necessary to provide this service to users of this site.  Please see our Privacy Policy, which is also liked at the bottom of every page, for more information.
 

Will you sell our information to anyone?

No!  Your information will never be given out or sold to anyone intentionally.  You can also delete your account at any time and your information will be permanently removed.
 

What are the restrictions?

The only restrictions to use this site are that you have parts to sell that are clearly related to simulation, and you're not selling with the intent to extort or harm the simulation community as determined by us.  If it is discovered that you are violating these rules your account may be suspended or removed.  This is to protect the community at large, as well as this site.
